Veronika's story

With nature and the mountains as constant companions, Veronika Niederer has ventured out into the world. She was born in the Austrian village Frankenfels in 1956, went on to Vienna to study and moved to Gothenburg, Sweden at the age of 28. In her new homeland, Veronika created a successful career as a Garment Technician, which she has now worked as for over 40 years.

After devoting her time to work and family life, Veronika felt an increasing longing for nature and especially for the mountains again.
The longing grew stronger and in 2001, at the age of 45, she made her first hike in Jämtlandsfjällen, up in the north of Sweden. With the hike and with nature so close, she found her way home again to the landscapes of her childhood. And that was the start of many hikes to come in Scandinavia and outside of Europe.
